First, we take into consideration what pool design will best suit your needs and your special requests. We look at the dimensions of your space, the terrain, existing landscape and plan around any design challenges we may face. Then, we design the look and feel of your pool. We then blend it with your natural surroundings, to create an esthetically pleasing, holistic vision that matches the style of your home or commercial property. From modern, architectural pools to classic, traditional styles or natural-looking custom rockwork, we use the best materials, equipment and the artistic expertise that make us the best pool-builders in the industry.

First, a strong base of concrete, shotcrete and metal reinforcements are used to create the outline of the rock formation. Then, a layer of concrete is hand-sculpted and carved by the hands of our Master Carvers, adding stabilizers and additives for longevity, and hand-painted finishes and textures, to imitate many varieties of real rock.

We can make any outdoor space feel like it was blessed by Mother Nature. Guests might be envious, wondering how you’re so fortunate to have such gorgeous, natural rockwork. And they’ll never know it was custom designed. Our finished look is that realistic.

We are also concerned about reducing water waste and any environmental impact on the natural surroundings. All of our active water features use water pumps that recycle water, while natural biological filters ensure water quality and clarity. Efficiency is also maintained through water volume reduction and built-in safety features.

You can also trust that we have the knowledge and engineering skills to build a safe, strong and durable wall. We have extensive experience in building retaining and reinforcement walls for both residential and commercial properties.

In 2019, Raincity was asked to sculpt a 600-foot long and 40-foot high retaining wall along the highway in North Vancouver. This was a large project, totaling about 18,000 square feet and consisting of two separate retaining walls. The challenge was to make these huge walls look natural. They were very flat, with only a few inches of relief to work with, and the Raincity team had to develop a style of detailing, which when viewed from below, is both impressive and natural looking.

We are WCB approved and fully insured, and we have extensive experience working with contractors, city planners, exhibit engineers and property developers, to make your commercial space the elegant creation or center of exploration you’ve always dreamed about.

Generally, we work on-site. However, we sometimes produce smaller-scale projects in other locations and install them seamlessly into the surrounding exhibit. We can also produce a beautiful scale model before construction, to show you what the finished habitat will look like.

Using glass fiber reinforced concrete, shotcrete and gunite, and sometimes epoxy resins for marine environments, we can create strong, durable large-scale rock formations and aquatic environments.

All of our artisans have the necessary skills, in-house, which eliminates the need for subcontractors. That means your vision doesn’t get lost in translation.
